We have monthly meetings at the homes of members, at which we have some sort of program related to winemaking or wine appreciation. Our goal is to mutually help all members make better wines.
The meetings are generally held at 7:30 PM on the fourth Friday of the month, with a few exceptions such as holidays. We have several special meetings that remain fixed, year to year.
The November meeting is always the first Friday in December (to avoid Thanksgiving), and there is no "December" meeting. At the "November/December" meeting we hold an informal judging by the members of the early wines from that year's vintage (Nouveau).
The January meeting is on a Saturday and has been changed to be after Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. It is the highlight of our social program. During the day we have a formal judging of member's homemade (finished) wines by an outside group of professional judges. That evening we have a potluck dinner at which everyone has a chance to taste the wines that were entered.
The February meeting is devoted to short presentations by the makers of the winning wines on how the wines were made, with another chance to taste the first-place wines. At other meetings we often have speakers, either invited or members, discussing some aspect of wine.
Please bring a wineglass to the meetings, as we will be sampling member’s wines.
